Cashback Cascade is a great cashback website. It has lots of clicks - I can easily surpass my 30p a day target; it is easy to use; and it has a friendly forum, always a good sign in an affiliate site.

You get £2.50 for joining, and you can request a payout when you get to £15.

Being a crook

There are crooked ways to make money. Apart from the usual criminal activities (!), there are few scams, some more ethical than others.

You could sell information which can be useful, or not so useful, and therefore selling it could be slightly unethical.

You could put an advert in the paper selling a booklet on how to earn £100 per month. Set up a PO Box account, and people send money - £20 for example - to your PO Box account in return for a list of money making ideas and affiliate links similar to the ideas on this blog. Or you could have an online website and ask people for the information via Paypal. Or you could put an ad on Ebay, selling information for a small fee. Ebay did crack down on these "information products" by banning products delivered via email. But there is nothing to stop you sending them via other means.

I recently read about fake clairvoyanyts/astrologers/psychics who send letters to people suggesting horrible things are going to happen and asking for money. Surprisingly these "clairvoyant" scams are run by "commercial companies rather than business-minded individuals" according to the Office of Fair Trading. These companies buy mailing lists of vulnerable people. The Office of Fair Trading states that more than 170,000 people fell victim to clairvoyant scams, losing an average of £240 each. If you are horrible enough to contemplate such a scam, then remeber that the clairvoyant companies are based outside the EU where they cannot be prosecuted by the UK authorities.

I'll stick to more ethical ways of making money.

I've been busy....

Yes, I have committed the cardinal sin of blog ownership: I have not done a new post for a few weeks. I have "been busy".

That busyness has been in part to my moneymaking efforts on the cashback sites, as they have lots of free money for filling in insurance quotes. I have not had time to explore new ways of making 30p a day, and therefore have not had anything to report!

I do want to make sure that my ways of making 30p a day are achievable. I have not just listed 80 ways to make money in the knowledge that 60 of them will not - mainly because I don't have time to attend to them all!

Setbacks....

I had a setback with Mylot. I logged in to see that all my friends, discussion history, referrals and money had disappeared!

I'm not sure why this is, and have contacted Mylot. The good news is that I did not lose much money. Presumably, I can just start again!

Also, I sell some ebooks on Ebay. Yes, I'm one of those crooks! My ebooks are a product that people want and are moderately priced, so I am not "one of those Ebay ebook crooks", if you are wondering. Ebay banned "digital delivery", i.e. selling ebooks and then emailing them to people; so I simply send my ebooks via CD now.

There are setbacks; but they can be overcome, and I did not lose much money, which is the main thing.

Making money from your own websites/blogs

I have a few websites and blogs; some I make some money from, some I have just started so they do not have that much traffic.

I'm not sure how to add these to my list. Should each individual blog/website be part of the list? Or should "making money from blogs/websites" be a general earner which takes one place on my list? Or, I could just mention the ways I make money from the blogs and websites, such as Voxant and Adsense.

I'll have a think and decide how to add them, although at the moment they are represented by earners such as Voxant and Adsense!

Napoleon Hill quotes....

Here are some quotes from the famous (pre-internet!) "money maker" Napoleon Hill, which will hopefully inspire you to continue on your efforts to earn some extra money.

“Most great people have attained their greatest success just one step beyond their greatest failure.”

“Don't wait. The time will never be just right.”

“No man ever achieved worth-while success who did not, at one time or other, find himself with at least one foot hanging well over the brink of failure.”

Achieving 80 ways of making money...

My main aim is to find 80 ways of making 30p every day. The difficult thing is to find 80 diffent money making ideas and schemes.

It would be easy for me to just list 80 different money making schemes. Type in "make money online" on Google, and you will see lots of pages listing 101 weird and wonderful ideas for making money; one site I looked at suggested that you could sell your own urine to make money!

So, I try to list things that I actually make some money from. I saw an online article from the Times which listed 10 ways to make cash online for students. Yuwie and Fotolia were mentioned. Yuwie is a social networking site you can make money from. Fotolia pays you for adding photos to their stock - you get paid if someone buys the right to use your photo. These are two prime candidates for inclusion. But, there is the danger I will sign up, add them to my list and forget about them. So I will have a look at them in the next few weeks - but not add them to my list!

A small update

I have been a bit busy lately due to the bumper amount of daily recurring clicks on the cashback sites. This means I have not been able to develop those money making programs outside of my "regulars"!

I do a number of cashback and survey sites. Dooyoo is also a good earner for me. It's easy to scrape £20 a month off Ebay, and Google adsense is one of my few passive earners. I have referred a few people on Mylot so hopefully they will become big users there! So, I have a number of ways of making £9 a month and 30p per day.

It's difficult to develop other ways of making money beause of time contraints, and I lose interest a little if I do not get an immiediate return. But, a money making idea or program should probably be tested over a few months!

Earn £30 an hour?

When I tell people about the opportunities to earn money on the internet, a common repponse is: " you spend all that time and effort earning little money - you may as well get a part time job".

This may be true. People do spend ages on sites like Mylot earning the about 30p an hour, far below the minumum wage. But you can earn lots of extra money for minimum effort, and get a good return for your work. "Passive" income programs such as Google adsense and Voxant allow you to earn money without doing any work - apart from setting up and promoting your webpages of course.

On Topcashback, the cashback site, you can earn £1.10 a day for 5 mins work per day. That is £12 an hour, which to me is a fairly good hourly wage. On Cashinco you can also earn £1.50 for about 10 mins work per day - and earn around £10 an hour. Unfortunately, you cannot do 10 hours a day on these cashback sites!

Maybe these amounts of money are not enough for some people to justify devoting some of their precious spare time. But I think it is worth it! I do draw the line at reading emails for 0.001p per minute though!
